Match Report | Empresa Norfolk Women's Hockey League Division 1 Dereham IV 0 Broadland II 1 Starting off this season has been tough for Broadland IIs, a team filled with players returning to hockey. After a midweek friendly win, which had given them a boost in confidence they went to Dereham with only one thing on their mind, to work as a team, play their socks off and secure their first win of the season. Broadland’s defence worked hard and rotated their key players so Dereham’s players rarely saw sight of the Broadland goal which was well guarded by Lauren Halliwell. Broadland took the lead shortly before the break when their star playerJenny Whiting aced a penalty corner. Dereham stepped up their game but Broadland were equal to it and with their midfielders passing the ball well, their forward line of Kat Maddox and the experienced Carolyn Duthie were always a threat to the home team. |
