Match Report | Saturday 16th January 2016 Empresa Norfolk Women’s Hockey League .Division 1 Norwich City IV 1 Broadland II 2 Norwich City started the game well and forced Broadland on the defensive for long periods and it was only through brilliant goalkeeping by Emma Rowley. that the game remained goalless until just before the break when a swift interchange at a penalty corner gave Norwich City the break their attacking play deserved The second half began as the first ended, with Norwich City having much of the ball and pounding the Broadland defence. Broadland turned the game on its head midway through the half when Issie London, the Broadland’s sweeper found Nikki Baker with a defence splitting through ball. The experience Baker made no mistake and levelled the score. Sensing they could yet win, Broadland upped their game and as Norwich City pressed for an equaliser, another rocket from London left the Norwich City defence in tatters, and Broadland’s star player Baker with the easiest of chances to hammer the ball home for the winner. |
