Match Report |
Division 1 Broadland II 5 Carrow II 0 With both teams desperate for points at the bottom of the table it should have been a tight affair but Broadland with fresh legs and high hopes dominated possession from the off. Carre Varley’s clinical finish from the top of the circle gave Broadland an early lead with Nikki Baker doubling their advantage before the break with a classic strike across the keeper as she finished off a flowing move from her position on the right wing. Carrow thought they had got back into the game early in the second half with a goal from Langley pupil Kotchakorn Thepcharven, (she’s from Thailand) but their celebrations were muted when the attempt was disallowed following an earlier infringement. Carolyn Duthie, starved of the ball all season, finally found the back of the net to record her first goal of the campaign, just before Broadland’s captain Nikki Kent also got on the score sheet with a opportunist’s goal at the far post. Carre Varley finished the scoring for Broadland as she had started it, with an unstoppable bullet of a strike which left the Carrow keeper completely flat footed.
