Match Report | Recently relegated Watton on paper were going to be no pushover. A pleasant 17 players had made themselves available with another Dragon flying from the den to join us. Fielding our strongest line up for the start (under Vice Captain Tim Mobbs wily tactics) Exiles started our season campaign in earnest.
Watton are a well organised lot and like to play passing hockey like the exiles and through a couple of defensive lapses we found ourselves 1 down in the first 5mins. Another new addition Arthur Carey was playing well and with a strong midfield and attack the lead bounced back and forth to half time seeing us 3-3.
Both teams shuffled line ups around and the second half was less a less frantic affair. Exiles fought hard to finish the game as a draw 4-4 which in the overall scheme of things was a fair result. All round good performances from everyone. Well done Simon Nisbet, Robbie Whiting, Arthur Carey and Andy Harris on good debut sessions.
