The more direct approach from Lowestoft Railway resulted in an early goal from which Norwich Exiles really never recovered.  Missing important players Exiles went further behind when Lowestoft Railway scored through a penalty corner. Exiles thought they had pulled a goal back, as did the home team, but this was wiped off the score sheet, play being restarted, to the bemusement of both sets of players and unnoticed by the match officials, with a push back from the centre spot.  Unfortunately matters went from bad to worse when Exiles gave away a penalty stroke and their keeper Edward Scott was yellow carded.  Stand in keeper Tim Mobbs could do little as Lowestoft Railway increased their grip on the game.  The second half, with their keeper restored and Exiles determined to make their mark, their midfield of Simon Nisbet, Rob Panter and Rick Powley dominated possession with Will Waterman and Robbie Whiting pulling goals back to set up a thrilling finale.  Unfortunately however, Lowestoft  Railway found another goal near the end, to deny Exiles the opportunity of a comeback.
