Match Report | Exiles are going to suffer from nosebleeds this high up the table I was a little worried when Will Mullen pulled out poorly but seeing the team on paper knew we were going to put a good account of ourselves out there. New player Jack Davies was present to watch the team along with Ruddy, Hadman & Read. As most of our usual defenders were unavailable Rob Dix and Ricky Powley bravely agreed to bolster the defence along with Toll and Baker. Both teams set out to command play with Exiles getting the better of possession early on and playing lovely passing hockey. We held off North Norfolk's attacks with gusto and rewarded with a goal before half time our reward. The second half was going to see North Norfolk implode on themselve’s with their captain hell bent with getting himself carded. I truly felt sorry for the rest of their team having to re-organize following his outburst. But Exiles showed cool under these conditions and showed our class with beautiful passing hockey for nearly the whole second half. 10 short corners were conceded by North Norfolk with 2 converted. Arthur Carey tried various tactics with his best blasts narrowly firing past on the right. Whiting and Mobbs were enjoying being supplied sublime passes from the midfield stalwarts of Sampson, Carey, Nisbet and Green. North Norfolk really didn't bother our D much and 3 potential goals were controversially denied to us but Exiles still powered through to win with 5 goals and a clean sheet our reward.
Goal providers were Robbie Whiting x2, Jon Mobbs x2 and Ed Sampson x1 |
