Match Report | Division 1 Beccles 3 Broadland II 1 Broadland looked the more likely to collect all the points in the early stages of this game as they dominated play and forced a number of penalty corners. It was Beccles, however who took the lead with an outstanding finish from Debbie Mann who broke the deadlock with a reverse flick which gave Emma Rowley in the Broadland goal no chance as the ball simply flew into the back of the net. Broadland, facing defeat for the first time this season, kept probing the Beccles rearguard and were rewarded for their patience when Broadland’s captain Nikki Kent squared the ball to fellow striker Carre Varley who with a strong finished found an equalizer just before the break. With all to play for in the second half, for whatever reason, Broadland found it difficult to mount any significant attacks and fell behind as Beccles’ Maxi Gibbs converted a penalty corner and then conceded again as Hannah Eaton found space and time to get her shot away from open play. |
