Match Report | Division 1 Broadland II 3 Pelicans II 1 Lotte Stalker ghosted past the Pelicans backline and from the narrowest of angles put Broadland ahead within 50 seconds of the start. Pelicans clearly rattled by this unsettling beginning conceded again after a further three minutes as the energetic Stalker again turned the visitor’s defence inside out to double the score. Lydia Lawrence drafted in as a last minute replacement, forced the ball over the line as the Pelican’s goalkeeper got caught with the ball at her feet with a third goal for Broadland. Pelicans came out for the second half in a more determined fashion and kept the home team on the back foot for much of the half. With Pelicans’ Grace Carrier and Imogen Ramsdale now finding space and time, Kirsty Rodgers pulled a goal back. Broadland with star player Harriet Large in good form, however played with grit and determination to deny Pelicans any chance of a comeback. |
