Match Report | Division 1 Broadland II 2 Beccles 0 Broadland held the upper hand from the off and took the lead after 15 minutes when Carre Varley latched on to a loose ball and drove at the Beccles defence to unleash an unstoppable shot through a packed Beccles defence to emphasis their control of the game. Broadland’s star player defender Lorna Cousins with Sophie White, Sarah Craig, Julia Currums and Sweeper Izzie London, were solid at the back and were hardly troubled during the early stages of the game which allowed the home team’s midfield to probe the Beccles defence. Broadland’s captain and left sided midfielder Martina Rothe doubled their lead before the break being in the ideal position to sweep the ball into the net as the Beccles defence failed to cut out a hard cross from the right wing. Beccles rallied after the break but rarely threatened the Broadland’s goal.
