Harleston Magpies V   1     Broadland II   1

After an indifferent start in which both teams made poor use of the ball it was the home team who took the lead just after the break converting a rare penalty corner.  Broadland stirred but not shaken, began to get on the front foot in the game and swiftly turned defence into attack with some excellent runs from sweeper Julia Currums and Carre Varley, her sister.  Broadland’s equaliser, not exactly straight out of the text book saw their star player Nikki Baker run onto a side line ball, taken some 70 metres away on the other side of the pitch. Baker’s reverse stick finish finding the roof of the net. Inspired by this remarkable goal Broadland dominated the remaining minutes but could not find a way through the by now packed Harleston defence
