Match Report |
Division 1 Broadland II 9 Thetford 1 Broadland were far too strong for relegated Thetford and held a 4 four goal advantage at the break. Carre Varley started the goal fest and was soon joined on the goal sheet by star player and captain Abi Dennison. Two quick goals from Dani Parke and Nikki Baker, who earlier had a penalty stroke saved by the Thetford keeper just before the break, gave a fair indication of things to come. Parke found the back of the Thetford net within a couple of minutes of the restart and Lydia Lawrence was on hand for Broadland’s sixth goal. Sophie White struck a powerful penalty corner giving the Thetford keeper little opportunity to make a save. Thetford pulled a goal back with a slick finish from a narrow angle, but the more experienced Lawrence and Parke scored again to complete the rout.
