Match Report | Friendly Broadland III 6 Hornets 2 Carolyn Duthie gave Broadland a great start with a classic poacher’s goal after just two minutes turning a defender and firing past the isolated Hornets keeper. Hornets stung by this early set back, responded and found a well-deserved equaliser through Sara Pallett. All square at half time Broadland’s star player Sharon Weeks broke the deadlock with a powerful finish across the keeper and into the far corner. Stepping up a gear Broadland dominated possession giving their inspirational midfielder Wendy Anema the opportunity to put the result beyond doubt with two goals in as many minutes. Weeks scored again for Broadland but a moment’s hesitation in their defence allowed Hornet’s Ellie Kirby to reduce the arrears. As the game came to a conclusion, Weeks completed her hat trick with a penalty corner strike that had too much pace on it, as it easily beat the Hornet’s keeper. |
