Match Report |
Division 3 Broadland III 4 Loddon II 1 A jittery Broadland III defence had to be at their best to prevent an early break through by Loddon II who looked likely to score every time they crossed into the home team’s circle. A long hard ball from Broadlands’ Izzie London picked out Wendy Anema, her well struck shot, although initially blocked by the Loddon keeper, fell invitingly to Carolyn Duthie’s stick, her clinical finishing giving Broadland the lead. Spurred on by this Broadland began to demonstrate why they are the team to beat in this division when Broadland’s star player Nina Torin, again snapped up a rebound off the keeper, to double their score. Broadland upped their game and were rewarded for their efforts when London converted a thumping penalty corner for their third. Duthie was at hand again to volley in Broadland’s fourth before Loddon pulled a goal back late on, following some muddle and error in the up till then, solid Broadland backline. |
