A rebound off the Dragons keeper and a smart finish by Carolyn Duthie after a few minutes’ play set the tone for the rest of the game. Shaz Weeks, returning to action after a long break, increased Broadland’s lead, snapping up an opportunity at a long corner. Broadland’s star player Wendy Anema set up ‘Dinky’ Topley for Broadland’s third. Now in full throttle Kat Maddox stole the ball of a Dragon’s defender and easily beat the home team keeper. Jen Crawford, on for the injured Becky Thompson increased Broadland’s commanding lead to five goals just before the break.  Dragons upped their game in the second period and gave Broadland some things to think about, but in spite of their best efforts the visitors rear guard remained strong and compact.  With Weeks finding her second goal and Broadland’s sixth late in the game, they comprehensively beat their local rivals.
