Champions Broadland seeking to redress the defeat inflicted on them by Hornets, their only loss of the campaign, took the lead within seconds of the start of the final match of the season, when Dinky Topley’s mishit shot, lacking pace, fooled the Hornet’s keeper who lost her balance and allowed the ball to gently roll into the net.  Broadland attacked, Hornets defended.  Hornets attacked Broadland defended, and thus it was until midway through the second half when Shaz Weeks pounced on a loose ball to double Broadland’s advantage. Broadland looking to put the result beyond doubt continued to press and finally found the Hornet’s net again when Weeks side stepped an onrushing defender a struck home a perfect penalty corner.
