Match Report |
Division 1 Broadland II 5 Pelicans II 4 In a pulsating game full of incidents and controversy, Broadland overcame the West Norfolk side by the odd goal in nine. Leading 3 – 2 at the break with a brace of goals from Kelly Allen and a penalty corner goal from star player Abi Dennison who volleyed high into the net. Good team work by Pelicans had pulled a goal back from open play and a penalty corner strike just before the break set up an interesting second half which was a somewhat tense affair, with a number of players from both sides receiving a warning for over-vigorous play. Pelicans equalized from a penalty corner but Broadland soon regained the advantage when Dennison too converted a penalty corner. Pelicans response was an excellent goal from open play to tie up the game but Broadland claimed all the points close to the end when Lydia Lawrence drifted past the Pelicans keeper to find the back of the visitors goal.
