Premier Division. Broadland II 2 Dereham III 0 Broadland II were too strong and experienced for the youthful Dereham side. Broadland more direct in their approach unhinged the visitor’s backline with a number of powerful passes out of defence by sweeper Izzie London, one of which arrived at the stick of Carre Varley who driving forward, fired wide, the alert Nikki Baker being on hand to slot the ball home for the opening goal. Dereham looked likely to score on numerous occasions but a great team effort in the midfield by Broadland’s joint star players Nina Torin and Lorna Cousins, supported by Amelia Anema and Lisa Gill prevented them from getting any meaningful strikes on the Broadland goal. Jen Crawford the Broadland keeper confidently clearing up the few threats to her goal. Varley stormed through the Dereham backline midway in the second half, to strike a powerful shot which easily beat the visitor’s keeper to claim the victory and Broadland II’s first points of the season.
