Match Report |
Division 2 Herlings 5 Broadland III 0 Broadland 3’s found it tough going on Herlings grass pitch. Herlings scored early on, with a long ball which found an attacker in the circle who scored with a good first touch. Herlings went further ahead from another loose ball in the circle despite good defending from Broadland’s newer players, Sandra Scott and Paula Mellor, who also were Broadland’s joint star players of the match. A foot on the line gave away a penalty flick which was scored by Mandy Goymour making the score 3-0 at half time. Broadland’s midfield of Nina Torin, Emma Goldsmith, Tessa Hewitt, Georgia Glenn and Tamsin Highfield continued to play some good passing hockey but found it difficult to move the ball to the strikers. Two further goals were scored by Herlings making it a 5-0 lead. Some good saves by Nat Brooks in the Broadland goal, and a goal line save by Izzie London late on, denied Herlings any further goals.
