| Match Report | East Men’s Hockey League Division 5 North East UEA III 5 Broadland Exiles 2 With both teams unbeaten this season and vying for promotion it was UEA who came out on top in a thrilling and sometimes frantic contest at the Sportspark and in front of one of the largest crowds seen at a local hockey match in recent years. UEA playing fast and sometimes over exuberant hockey started off how they meant to go on and took the lead before an Exiles player had touched the ball. Exiles, shaken but not unduly perturbed set about restoring some order to their play equalized through Robbie Whiting, but then allowed UEA III to restore their advantage with some slack defending. Broadland’s Ian White slipped his marker and fired in another equalizer to set up a thrilling second half and with both sides going for the win opportunities for both sides came thick and fast with UEA taking their chances and Exiles unable to convert their opportunities. |
