Broadland Exiles   3  Felixstowe III   2

Exiles started strangely subdued but still managed to fashion quite a few efforts on goal but unfortunately  the attempts didn't have quite the required venom to beat the Felixstowe keeper. Some great defending from John Baker in particular, prevented Exiles from conceding early on, but eventually Felixstowe took the lead with their first effort on goal. Stunned by this set back Exiles woke up and restored parity when their captain  Simon Nisbet hammered home from just inside the circle.
The second half started with a dazzling run from defender Ricky Powley who stormed forward to pick out Rob Panter, whose first-time strike gave Exiles the lead.  Exiles, sensing the game was there for the taking, pressed the Felixstowe rear guard and were rewarded with a string of penalty corners one of which Panter lashed into the roof of the net via a deflection. Felixstowe, with only their second effort of the game, reduced the deficit through a penalty corner, but Exiles managed the game out to secure the victory which now gives them an 8 point lead over third place Dereham III.at  the Christmas break.
