Felixstowe III   1     Norwich Exiles   7

Norwich Exiles started their league season with a morale boosting victory over one of their toughest rivals by seven goals to one. Robbie Whiting scored the important opening goal from an acute angle after a couple of minutes to set the tone of the game.  Exiles maintaining the pressure and following a smart build -up between Sam Brewster and Ian White, the final ball from White allowed Phi Dawson, on his league debut for Exiles to round the home keeper for their second goal.  Felixstowe clearly stung by this further set back pressurised the Exiles back line but could not get past the agile James Edward-Scott in the visitor’s goal.  A driving run from Mark Varley and a sublime pass to Whiting produced another goal for Exiles . White poked home following a goal mouth melee to score Exiles fourth before Tom Mullins score a fifth with a reverse stick finish minutes before the half time whistle. Exiles not content, continued to look for further opportunities to increase the score. White fired in a sixth before captain for the day Brewster bravely dived to deflect the ball into the path of Rob Panter, who with pin-point accuracy picked out Whiting, who deftly deflected the ball in for Exiles seventh, to complete his hattrick.  Felixstowe scored a consolation goal from a penalty corner just before the final whistle.
