Match Report | Norwich City IV 1 Broadland II 2 With both sides looking like they had enjoyed the summer break, the game lacked the spark of a mid–season competitive match. Broadland weathered early pressure from Norwich City before Broadland energised their forward line and took the game to the home side. Lydia Lawrence, guesting for the 2’s gave the visitors the lead with a clinical finish just before the break. Amelia Anema finished off a flowing move with a classic snapshot which ricocheted off a defender’s stick into the goal to extend Broadland’s advantage. Broadland seeking to put the game to bed increased the pressure on the City backline and had it not been for some outstanding goalkeeping by Summer Haylock, Broadland might have run up a cricket score. City pulled a goal back, however with a well struck penalty corner towards the end from Florence, but continued to find it difficult to get through the compact Broadland midfield ably marshalled by their star player Tessa Hewitt. |
