Broadland started the day on the back of two heavy defeats and looking to get things back on track.  Both teams started with great determination with Diss taking an early lead from a well struck penalty corner.  Broadland swept up the other end almost from the restart, and were awarded a penalty corner,  Nikki Baker’s powerful shot levelling up the score.  With end to end play both sides had opportunities with Diss forging ahead again through another smart penalty corner routine.  Awarded a penalty stroke for a foot on the line ,Diss failed to extend their lead as Emma Piddock in the Broadland goal made lightwork of the resulting attempt.  A much-relieved Broadland stormed forward and found another equalizer as time ran out,  Baker slipping the ball to Broadland’s star player Tess Hewett who thumped the ball in for her first goal of the season.  Carrying an injured player Broadland rather faded in the second half but still managed to threaten the visitor’s goal, however two panicky errors at the back were gifts for the Diss forwards who scored twice to take all the points.
