Match Report | East Men’s Hockey League Division 5 (North-East) Broadland Exiles 6 Bury IV 0 The opening minutes of this Division 5 game were totally dominated by the home side who took the lead when Dan Cheeseman finished off a team goal in which the ball was brilliantly worked from defence to the attack. Robbie Whiting doubled Exiles lead in less than a minute with a reverse stick strike which flew into the roof of the net. Now in complete control Rob Lukey’s deflection put Exiles further ahead. Bury tried to rally just before half time and had a number of penalty corners but Exiles man of the match John Baker easily dealt with all their attempts. Exiles again put pressure on the Bury defence from the restart and had a stroke of good fortune as Will Waterman somehow manage to get his stick on the ball to force it across the line for a fourth goal. Now with their tails up Exiles grabbed a brace of goals through two excellent strikes from Ian White. Unbeaten Exiles retain their top of the league position for another week. |
