Match Report | East Men’s Hockey League Division 5 (North East) Broadland Exiles 3 Norwich Dragons IV 2 With Norwich Dragons IV trailing league leaders Broadland Exiles by 3 points at the start of the day the game ran to form, but only just! Dragons surprised Exiles by taking an early lead at a penalty corner when a miss hit bobbling strike deceived the Broadland keeper James Edward Scott and went under his body. Broadland who up until then had dominate possession upped the tempo and found an equalizer when Richard Powley picked out the run of Dan Cheeseman who controlled and rounded the Dragon’s keeper all in one go, to arrow the ball into the visitor’s net. With all to play for in the second half and Broadland maintaining their grip on the game. Defender Sam Brewster’s powerful run and cross was driven home with a reverse stick strike from Cheeseman, as Exiles eased themselves into the lead. A over exuberant tackle just as a Broadland forward was about to shoot lead to a penalty stroke which was easily converted by Robbie Dix for their third goal. With less than a couple of minutes on the clock Dragons pulled a goal back but by then it was too little too late. |
