Match Report |
Empresa Norfolk Women’s Hockey League Premier Division Broadland II 1 Norwich City IV 0 After an even first half, with little to choose between the teams, the game burst into life after the break when Broadland took the lead within 50 seconds of the restart through their senior player Nikki Baker who using all her experience snapped up an opportunity as she steadied herself at the far post to blast the ball past the City goalkeeper. Stunned by this reversal the City side pressurised the Broadland rear guard but failed to seriously threaten the home team’s goal. With the Broadland midfield being energised by Wendy Anema, Amelia Anema, Georgie Glen and Verity Becker, they began to control the game but with the City side always looking dangerous on the counterattack, Broadland’s defence mustered by Izzie London and Sophie Lappin, had to be alert and firm to avoid conceding late on.
