Match Report | East Men’s Hockey League Division 5 (North East) Broadland Exiles 3 Bury V 1 In the intensity of the opening minutes Broadland spurned a number of clear cut chances to take the lead but it wasn’t until the thirteenth minute that Bury paid the price for some weak defending enabling Dan Cheeseman to square the ball along the back line into the path of Will Waterman who accepted the easiest of chances to put Broadland ahead. Bury began to control the ball and produced an equalizer at a rare penalty corner. Sensing that the game might slip away from them, league leaders Exiles introduced Rob Panter into their midfield. Almost immediately Broadland regained the lead through Panter, his well struck penalty corner strike coming off a defender’s foot and ricocheting into the roof of the net. Cheeseman who had been until the last minute or so of the game been shackled by some strong defending escaped his marker and rattled in Exiles final goal of the game. |
