North Norfolk II 1 Broadland III 1
Broadland III’s trip to the chilly seaside in March against North Norfolk II’s saw them return home with a welcome point after a run of four defeats. Broadland, quick out of the blocks pressurised North Norfolk from the first whistle and kept the home side pinned their half for most of the first period. A terrific strike from Broadland’s Kelly Holman was ruled out because it was deemed to be outside the circle. With no score at the break and all to play for, a defensive mix up with no defender taking charge of the situation and a good dose of panic, saw North Norfolk take the lead. Minutes later North Norfolk should have doubled their lead when awarded a penalty stroke. Their player designated to take the stroke tried to fool Broadland’s keeper Trudi Westbury with a feint but only succeed in having this opportunity overturned. Carolyn Duthie side-lined until this moment entered the fray and immediately made her mark setting up Holman who in turn fed the ball to Hannah Killick who made no mistake to secure a point for Broadland. Broadland’s star play was right sided defender Sally Logue who dominated the North Norfolk left attack for most of the game. |
