| Match Report | Saturday 26th September 2020 East Women’s Hockey League Division 2 (North East) Norwich City III 0 Broadland 3 Helen Brockington drove home a loose ball after a lengthy period of pressure to open the scoring for Broadland in their opening game of the season against local rivals Norwich City 3s. Within two minutes of the restart Broadland surged ahead when Natasha Blyth, winning the ball in midfield strode forward on a 50m run and collecting the ball on the edge of the circle, fired an unstoppable effort past the City keeper. Dani Park unmarked at the back post confidently swept in Broadland’s third goal in her first game of the season, just after the break to tighten the visitor’s grip. In spite of City 3’s stepping up their game Broadland’s defence held strong and on the odd occasions they did get through Jen Crawford, their captain and goalkeeper was in great form dealing easily with anything that City could muster. |
