Match Report | Saturday 12th December 2020 Norfolk Women’s Hockey League Premier Division Norwich City IV 6 Broadland II 2 A much- rearranged Broadland defence succumbed to an early goal and from then on were on the back foot for long periods of the game. Unable to penetrate a solid ring of City forwards Broadland struggled to get the ball to their midfield and when they did their attacks were easily mopped up.by the City defence. Although Alice Saunders in the Broadland made a string of good saves City scored twice more before half time to get a vice like grip on the game. A quick warm up with some port at the break, thanks to Nikki Baker, gave Broadland a fresher look and put a bit more fire into Broadland’s attack. Amelia Anema, out of her normal role and playing on the backline for the first time made some great tackles and interceptions but even she could do little to prevent the league leaders from scoring soon after half time. The in-form Verity Becker score twice for Broadland to give her team some hope but City were pretty relentless and converted two more attempts to claim a comfortable victory.
