Match Report | Saturday 4th December 2021 Division 3 North East North Broadland II 0 UEA II 3 Two goals within a minute within the first ten minutes looked a fairly ominous sign for Broadland’s second string. One as a really good move by the UEA forward line and the second a result of misfortune after two Broadland defenders muddled a clearance, looked to have set the pattern for the rest of the game. This was not the case as in previous games. Broadland rallied and began to make inroads into the much more youthful UEA rear guard. A fall on the slippery surface by Corks Cocoram the Broadland keeper, as she came to clear away the ball presented a UEA forward with the easiest of opportunities which she guided into the unguarded Broadland goal for a third. In spite of this set back Broadland looked to get on the scoresheet themselves and bombarded the UEA goal, with the UEA goalkeeper making a last-ditch clearance after fumbling the ball at a penalty corner at the very end of the first half being their best opportunity The second period saw end to end play but with neither side being able to make headway. Lucy Barber, and new mums Catherine Brewster and Tamsin Highfield together with Izzie London were the pick of the bunch as the home team turned out a much more promising performance than has blighted their stuttering season so far.
