Match Report | Saturday 29th January 2022 East Women’s League Division 3 North East North Broadland II 1 Yarmouth 0 Although the score line suggests it was an evenly matched game it certainly didn’t come close to that. Broadland dominated the game almost from start to finish with some outstanding teamwork and brilliant individual play. Amy Robinson was Broadland star player, but such was the game everyone deserved that accolade. Tamsin Highfield was in the thick of it, driving the game forward with some great tackles, using her experience, reading the game well and setting up to some fantastic passing moves that brought Lucy Barber, and the hard-working Connie Harris into play. Opportunities at penalty corners came and went but eventually Nikki Kent put Broadland ahead in the 25th minute when her well-directed goal bound attempt was touched by a defender’s stick onto the Yarmouth keeper’s kicker, and unfortunately for her, into her own net. Broadland continued to press, with Yarmouth looking for an equaliser and with Broadland not wanting to concede a goal the games became a little nervy with some desperate clearances by both teams. In summary a great game to watch, great teamwork and great spirit.
