Match Report | Saturday 29th January 2022. East Men’s Hockey League Division 4 North East Broadland Exiles 7 Ipswich and East Suffolk IV 0 Leading by four goals at the break, with two goals from Dan Cheeseman and one a piece from Ed Sidgwick and Sam Brewster, Exiles lead looked un-assailable, and that’s the way it turned out to be. IES had little to offer as the Exiles moved the ball confidently crisply and with some pace around the pitch. IES on the other hand could not hold onto the ball and consequently made it easy for the home team’s midfield who dominated the game. Ken Shaddock in the Exiles goal was hardly called into action but nevertheless when he was, did what he had to do with great confidence. Fergus Clark was set up by Cheeseman for Exiles fifth goal before Sidgwick powered home his second goal of the game. In the last few minutes of the game Cheeseman sealed the game with an individual effort and might have added to his tally when an overtime penalty corner strike struck the post. |
