Match Report | Division 2 North East Broadland 0 Bury St Edmunds II 1
Broadland dominated the early stages of this critical league match, being driven forward by Helen Harper who was masterful in their midfield. It wasn’t until the 22nd minute that Bury got a glimpse of the Broadland goal, and unfortunately for the home side, struggling to get the ball away, conceded from a bit of a goal mouth scramble. Undeterred Broadland having introduced Natasha Blyth, returning to the side after a lengthy period out with a knee injury, spiced up their attacking options, putting Bury on the defensive and might have scored on a number of occasions but for some last-ditch tackles from Bury and some misdirected Broadland efforts, the score remained at 1 -0 at the break. Broadland continued to match Bury in all departments in the second half but however, could not get a meaningful strike on target. Although the game became a little more end to end, with Bury working very hard to prevent a Broadland equaliser, Bury looked capable of scoring again at any time. Disappointing as it was for Broadland it was difficult to say which was the better side. Report from Terry Ransom |
