Match Report | Saturday 12th February 2022 East Women’s Hockey League Division 2 North East Norwich Dragons III 2 Broadland 0 Broadland commenced this important league match with some intensity, playing some excellent passing hockey to take them forward, but with Dragons equally creating chances through good team movement the game was a tight affair. The only real opportunity for Dragons came with a shot that came off the head of Broadland’s captain and goalkeeper, Jen Crawford, and to safety. A penalty corner for Dragon’s after the half time whistle was successfully defended by the visitors, so the game remained goalless at the break. With both sides working hard to create opportunities, the breakthrough for Dragon’s came when a Dragon’s attacker broke clear, rounded the stranded Crawford to put her side ahead. A second goal for Dragon’s, a slick penalty corner routine gave the home side a clear advantage, but Broadland continued to challenge Dragon’s for every ball but what opportunities they created came to nothing.
