| Match Report | Saturday 19thMarch 2022 East Women’s Hockey League Division 2 North East Colchester 1 Broadland 0 After their longest away trip of the season Broadland matched Colchester in every department with nothing to separate them at the break. Broadland’s star player and captain Jen Crawford had been called into action on a number of occasions in the first half as Colchester broke through a very determined Broadland backline to threaten their goal. With Jen Crawford in great form, nothing could get past her. With all to play for the second half it was all about chances and missed opportunities. Broadland’s best moment started by Abi Dennison in the midfield, set-up Kelly Holman. Her hurried snapshot on target brought the Colchester keeper into action but was easily cleared. Again, Broadland paid the price, as Broadland defender Hattie Grimes had the misfortune to deflect the ball past her own keeper for the only goal of the game. Report by Hattie Grimes.
