Match Report | The return of the interclub derby with both teams looking to come out on top. It was Broadland 1st team who had the first pressure on the ball, gaining a short corner within the first 3 mins. A great effort by Natasha Blyth disallowed as the ball was struck too high. The 2s held there own, with some fantastic saves by their goalkeeper and star player, Dani Parke. After 16 minutes, Broadland 1st team broke the deadlock with creative display from Verity Becker who passed to Saksia Snelle-Vermeer who scored a reverse strike in the bottom right hand corner. Unfortunately following a scrap in during a short corner, Broadland 2s defender Ava Ingram was injured and sadly had to retire for the day, leaving Broadland 2s with no subs. The 2s underdeterred played a great through ball from defender Danni Garwood to forward Kelly Holman who skillfully ran into the D, 1 on 1 with the keeper, she slipped it passed the keeper but defender Rachel Fields managed to sweep it off the line. The 2s continued to battle hard, the scoreline stayed at 1-0 to Broadlands 1s going into the second half. After a slow start to the 2nd half, in the 50th minute, Kelly Allen was in the right place at the right time and converted her first of the season after a scrap in the D. Shortly after, Kelly Allen scored her second in similar fashion. Broadland 1s had now found their feet with some great team play and passing from their star player Connie Harris. With 10 minutes to go, Verity Becker scored from a cracking strike at the edge of the D to make it 4-0. Broadland 2s continued to battle but they could not stop Kelly Allen's strike to bag her hat-trick. All in all, a fantastic battle from both teams
