Norwich Dragons IV   0     Broadland I   1

Early league leaders Broadland started this important league match against one of their closest rivals with some purpose. Jess Bennett looked to have opened the scoring for Broadland within a few minutes of the start of game, but her effort was disallowed, and a penalty corner awarded instead.  Not deterred Broadland continued to pressure the home team’s defence and were rewarded for their efforts when a move started deep in their own half by Jenny Whiting and taken forward down the line by Isabelle Harris was picked up by Verity Becker and crossed accurately into the path of Jess Bennett who slotted the ball passed the Dragons keeper for the opening goal of the game.

Broadland commenced the second half with some determination not to let Dragons back into the game and might have increased their lead on a number of occasions, particularly through Helen Kelly with one her efforts being swept of the line by Sarah Wagstaff, the last Dragon’s defender.  Dragons to their credit never gave up and had a number of penalty corners themselves but Broadland managed them all of them well.  Broadland’s Natasha Blyth in Broadland’s midfield was a constant thorn in Dragons side as she ran them ragged taking on and frustrating the Dragons’ midfield. Broadland might have increased their lead late on but a number of injuries towards the end meant that the score remained 1 nil to the visitors.
