Match Report | Saturday 5th November 2022 Division 5 North East North Broadland III 1 East Coast II 3 Unbeaten league leaders East Coast had to be on top form to overcome a tough and stubborn Broadland III. The visitors’ dominated the early stages and went ahead with an open play goal after 7 minutes and doubled their lead on eleven minutes with an almost identical goal to the first, when their forward picked up a loose ball behind the keeper and scored from close in. Broadland responded to this set back and began to force East Coast on the defensive with a number of strong runs and some incisive passing. In the 24th minute Broadland pulled a goal back following perhaps their best sequence of play, when Ruth Aldous struck a firm shot to the left of the East Coast keeper which took a vital deflection which left the goalkeeper stranded. Any thoughts of a second half comeback by Broadland were dashed within a minute of the restart as an East Coast player ran through, almost unchallenged to extend their lead. Broadland down but not disheartened continued to threaten but could not breakdown the league leaders and the division meanest defence.
