Covid-19 procedures

All hockey activity has been suspended from 5th November until 4th December at the earliest due to the latest national lockdown. Further updates will follow from the Government and England Hockey, as well as the league organisers for East divisions and Norfolk divisions in due course as to how and when we can return to play. Please check back on this page or await details from your captains.

 

All information is subject to change and everyone should follow the latest guidlines from England Hockey and the Government at all times.

All procedures are following the rules and guidance provided by England Hockey and interpreted for our local environment. If you do not follow this guidance you may be asked to leave the facilities.

Broadland and Exiles Hockey players: You must complete an England Hockey Participation Agreement at least 24 hours before you are due to play. (You only need to complete this once). The link for this is here.

 

Match Days

For both home and away teams at TRF:

On arrival

On arrival at TRF please park with consideration for others, if you are near to other cars please wait until they have emptied before getting out. Do not congregate in the car park but proceed to the players areas which will be signposted. You should aim to socially distance from others at all times other than during game play. There is a one way system in operation around the clubhouse. Details of this can be found here.

There are no changing facilities available at the clubhouse due to being unable to fully sanitise them between uses. You should arrive changed and ready for your game. We are unable to allocate them to teams, even those travelling a long way, as we must comply with government guidelines and the rule of 6. 

Umpires travelling long distances are also unable to book changing facilities and we would expect umpires to arrive ready wherever possible.

Toilet facilites are available and can be accessed via the one way system in place. Please follow the guidance on the door and the sign posts around the site. Do not use the toilets or foyer for changing as this encourages groups to congregate in these areas.

Please wear a face mask if entering the building and maintain social distancing at all times.

Hand sanitising stations are provided throughout the site and building.

Spectators are permitted to watch from the grass areas marked out and as seen on the map here. They should not access the pitch areas or the area in front of the clubhouse. Spectators must not form groups of more than 6 people and must maintain social distancing at all times.

There are strictly no spectators, players or officials in the club room before or during the games unless purchasing drinks. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times in the building. Anyone other than players and officials (whose contact details we already have) entering the clubhouse to purchase refreshments should sign in at the bar for test and trace purposes.

 

During the game

Please congregate with your team on the grass area next to the building. This is also where you can do any warm up. Groups outside of the pitch area must not be of more than 6 people and should be socially distanced at all times.

Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance to the pitch and we encourage players to use it.

Only teams, umpires, subs and team manager/coach are allowed within the pitch area. All others should be within the designated spectator areas and maintaining social distancing. The England Hockey ruling is that no more than 30 people can be on the pitch at any one time. During a match this would be 24 (11 a side plus 2 umpires), all subs plus manger/coach can remain on the sidelines but must be socially distanced at all times.

When the final whistle goes of the current game, the next two teams playing on that pitch can now make their way, maintaining social distance, through the paved area between the pitches to the gates at the far end. There should still be no spectators in this area, just players and officials. Do not encroach on the other teams still on the pitch as they leave.

Your kit must be placed in one of the marked areas on the side of the pitch, please minimise the amount of kit you bring pitch side. The dugouts are not in use, even if it is raining!

Please avoid touching any of the equipment with your hands (e.g. goals, balls). If you need to, use hand sanitiser before and after and wipe down equipment with sanitising wipes afterwards.

During play please minimise contact e.g. during goal celebrations. Please take corners and hits around the D promptly. There should be no spitting, avoid excessive shouting, and no handshakes. A non-physical form of thanks can still be given!

Players should be made aware of the new rules of conduct that are in operation during games to limit the spread of Covid-19. These can be found on the England Hockey website here.

When your game finishes please remove your belongings from the designated areas as quickly as possible and vacate the pitch from the gates nearest the clubhouse as normal. This should allow the next teams to enter from the far end and minimise any delays with changover on the pitches.

 

After the Game

Changing facilities are not available after matches. Please do not use the toilets, or any areas inside the clubhouse, for changing.

Hot drinks and water will be available for players and officials following the match. Please limit the number of people entering the building to collect them, you can then enjoy your refreshments on one of the designated benches outside (in groups of 6 or less and maintaining social distancing) or on the large grass area. The benches are for the use of players and officials only, and there will be a limited time slot at these benches to allow for cleaning between use. Please do not leave kit on the benches.

Other drinks and snacks can be purchased from the bar. Please follow the one way system as sign posted.

Anyone other than players and officials (whose contact details we already have) entering the clubhouse to purchase refreshments should sign in at the bar for test and trace purposes. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

 

Training Sessions

The same rules around the one way system and access to the clubhouse apply. Toilets are available but no changing facilities or refreshments.

Attendance at Training must be booked in advance via an app, and by the sunday evening prior to the session. This allows us to monitor attendance and stick to the rules regarding maximum numbers. Booking is on a first come first served basis. If you do not have the app please contact your captains to arrange access.

Please arrive and make your way to the pitch.

Do not put your kit directly inside the gate, but in a space away from others kit. Please use the marked areas if possible.

You will be assigned a group and drill to start at. Please avoid touching any of the playing equipment with your hands, and ensure you have washed and sanitised them before and after play. If playing equipment does need to be moved cleaning equipment is provided to use on it before and after.

Outside of the formal training session on the pitch, the rule of 6 applies and you must socially distance and maintain groups of 6 or less people. Even on the pitch you should socially distance as much as possible.

After training please leave the pitch and facilities quickly.
