If you fancy a run about and want to pick up some hockey skills then we've got just what you’re looking for. Whether you play regularly, are looking for a new club or want to learn a new sport then come and join us at our Saturday morning sessions. We're running free taster sessions all summer for all abilities and ages, so why not?!
We're a great friendly club, opening our doors looking for new ladies and gents to join our hockey family. If you're new to, a dab hand at or a little rusty on your hockey skills these sessions will be great and are a fun way to combine hockey with fun over the summer break.
We, along with clubs across the country will be running a Back to (or New to) Hockey campaign, supported by England Hockey.
The sessions are Saturday mornings 10:30am - 12 running throughout July and August. They are FREE and a chance to see if you like it, they’ll be held at Taverham Recreational facilities (next to Taverham High School).
We'd love to see you. If you're interested message us and we'll get in touch with more information.

Testimonials…..
Here’s a few words from some of the stars of our Back to Hockey campaign over the last few years. They were brave and plucked up the courage to join us. Some were new to hockey, some coming back after having children and some following an injury along with so many other reasons for coming along….
"Plucking up the courage to go to a Back to Hockey session at Broadland was most definitely the best thing I have done in years! The sessions reminded me of what a great sport it is and just how much I had missed it since leaving school. Reminding me of old skills but learning loads of new ones, Broadland members made returning both fun and welcoming. Whatever ability or however long ago you have played, the sessions ease you back into the game, in a relaxed, non-pressured environment. Couldn't have asked for a more friendly club to get me back into the sport!"

"I started playing hockey as a right back at school about 25 years ago but soon realised that Goalkeeper was the position for me. I played throughout school and continued when I joined the Army.
When I left the Army I stopped playing for about 5 years but missed it like mad. I started again for a local club. 6 seasons of back to back promotions and some tough games I injured my back and thought it was time to retire from Hockey. After moving to Norwich in 2014 and a few years of no hockey I started to get itchy feet again. A colleague of my partner played for Broadland Hockey Club and mentioned the Back to Hockey session through the summer.
I turned up at Taverham High School on the first session not knowing anyone, I was very nervous as I had never joined a team where I literally knew no one. The nerves were soon gone… everyone instantly introduced themselves, they were very friendly and welcoming. I started playing outfield that season but again quickly realised I couldn’t get away from being in Goal.
The last season I have played for all three teams at times, in and out of goal and been made to feel welcome in all. Clubs I have previously played for have been made up of individual teams, each team worrying about themselves. Broadland Hockey Club is not like that, they are a lovely, friendly welcoming bunch who all look out for each other… Come and see for yourself!!"

"I was looking to take up a sport mainly to improve my fitness. I thought playing a sport would be the best way to achieve this. I had never played hockey before and was sceptical about starting as I thought it would be a tough sport to pick up late on. Broadlands back to hockey sessions were brilliant at giving me the knowledge I needed to play and also the techniques I needed to play and compete! That was 3 years ago and I don’t feel out of place against others who’ve played the sport for years! This is all because of the Broadland back to hockey sessions"
